Published annually, 700 directories are distributed to physicians in Marion and Polk Counties, as well as to area pharmacists, medical office staff, hospital staff, administrators, physician spouses, community groups and individuals. Your message reaches the medical community continuously throughout the year. This valuable resource tool contains photos, office addresses, and phone and fax numbers for each of the Society’s 400 members. The directory includes pharmacy listings, medical resource listings and vendor advertisements. Each Medical Society member receives one directory free of charge. Members may purchase additional directories for $20 each. Members of the public may purchase the directory for $55. As a physician, you have an opportunity to share your love of medicine and science with children of all ages through the Society's MEdNet - The Medical Education Network© Program. Since 1986, over 40 physicians have volunteered twice a year to "job shadow" selected members of the public. This program gives physicians the opportunity to learn what concerns the public may have about health care issues, and it gives the interns a chance to see what the "day-in-the-life" of a doctor is all about.
