Be a farmer for a day!

Join us for a volunteer activity at the Marion Polk Food Share Youth Farm.  We will be helping the kids who are growing crops to help raise nutritious foods for families in need.  So, bring your boots and gloves. At the end of the morning we will be served a healthy snack by the youth farm volunteers. This is a "kid friendly" activity!  They can accommodate up to 20 volunteers.

What to Bring:

It could be a hot day by the end of the morning, so wear layers. Bring sturdy footwear, layered clothes that can get dirty, and sun/rain protection (hat, sunblock, sleeves, etc.).

Water available, but participants should be water bottles as we’ll often be out in the crops away from the water source. We’ll also have coffee for volunteers.

We’re planning for a healthy farm fresh snack break near the end of the time together (11:30ish).

Location:

On the Chemeketa Community College main campus in Northeast Salem. Farm address is 4320 Winema Place, NE. Turn onto Winema Place NE off Lancaster and drive past MAPs Credit Union. Follow that road until the sharp bend and continue to drive straight, onto a gravel road. Pass through the gate and the Youth Farm is at the end of that road. If the small parking area is full, you may park along the gravel road.

Volunteers help tend crops at the Marion Polk Food Share Youth Farm.
